INDIA TODAY!

Understanding India culture First of all I would like to apologize for my absences for the past weeks. Work has gotten most of my time & my style of blogging is to report interesting informative happenings I experience. I was away on a business trip till today & I touch down Singapore only at ETA 0810hrs today. My flight to India-Delhi was a pleasant one via Singapore Airline. Airline crew were caring & making sure my needs are met. The thought of leaving Singapore to Delhi had already provided me with an adrenaline rush. The idea of India has always been exotic for me. Exotic not about the colours of India, spices of India but the sight & things you get to see is not a normal sight you will get back in Singapore or my second mother land Thailand. The only fear I face is not being able to withstand the overwhelming body odour of the Indians. I’m sure most of us face before the horrendous situation when a Bangladeshi or Indian sit themselves down next to us drowning us with their body odour. But to my surprise I wasn’t drowned in the sea of odour when I was surrounded in Delhi International Airport by hundreds of Indians AKA “Ah Pu Neh” lol..

It came to my notice that the environment seems hostile. Thus my male protective instinct kick in & I find its my duty to protect my female colleague that was travelling with me. I was worried that having so many Indians surrounding her might be dangerous for my female colleague Teri to roam around with me while I hailus a cab so I requested that she wait in the airport. It wasn’t long before a group of private cab drivers approach me with multiple price range. The highest they offered was RS$750 & I wasn’t really convince that its the standard or best price I could get. Facing the airport, I made a left & found a few cab companies I didn’t hesitate to pay when I was offered RS$250 for a trip to my hotel.

Wasting no time I make my way back to my colleague whom was waiting still in the airport. As I made my way back in to the airport, I was stopped by a security guard. He demanded RS$60 from me saying that I would need to make a payment to get back in. Having a strong a stubborn character I refuse payment till a police officer approach & stopped the whole heated argument . Lastly letting me in without having to pay. As our cab drove us to our destination , Ashok Hotel, I was able to view the streets of Delhi & immediately I started to immerse myself into the culture.

Streets were busy, drivers sounding their horns in the
cars & trucks could be heard non stop. The non-accommodating streets & living condition amaze me making me saying thanks & appreciating the fact that I am from a country that need not live in those conditions.
